AGL Nyngan Ag Expo gets bigger

This year sees the Nyngan Ag expo committee celebrate its 26th year, having commenced in 1992 with 4 exhibitors; it has seen a growth over those 26 years to boasting 260 exhibitors in 2017and in excess of 300 today. The event has experienced a continual demand for expansion of sites and will expand sites again this year to accommodate new and old exhibitor enquiries.

2018 Chairperson Peter McKid said “the committee is delighted to again welcome AGL Energy as its naming rights sponsor for this year, we thank all our sponsors and are appreciative of their ongoing support as a sponsor, without this support Expo would battle to provide necessary funds for the community.

“Sponsor support is invaluable to the Nyngan Ag Expo” Mr McKid said “it plays a vital role in ensuring the longevity and overall success of this event. We as a committee subscribe to a set of standards that are focused on informing, educating and promoting business in the rural sector”

For the second year NSW Sports Shear will be a major event of the day, “this event will attract more than 40 shearers from around the state as this is the first event on the Sports Shear calendar. There will be a demonstration of a robotic lawn mower – (a dream toy for every man), saw mill demos and an innovated star picket post straightener.

While big machinery, sheep and cattle displays are a vital part of what brings the farming community to the AGL Nyngan Ag Expo, smaller equipment and lifestyle products and services have an equally important part to lay in Australian rural and agricultural life. The: rural advisory groups contribute greatly by providing relevant information on services available to the farming community.

Various educational colleges attend and the Nyngan CEF, which was created as an extension of the Ag Expo to support our young students completing their schooling or looking for assistance to further educate at either University or TAFE. All funds raised by a dedicated volunteer committee stays within the bounds of the Bogan Shire.
